About the space

When I thought about how I wanted my office to feel, I imagined a space that feels like a warm hug. A place where you can slow down, take a breath, and feel safe just being yourself.

The room has soft lighting, plants, and warm wood tones that make it feel calm and grounded. There are a few different places to sit. You can curl up on the couch, sink into the bean bag, or sit by the window where the light filters through the trees. There’s even a blanket if you want to get cozy. However you feel most comfortable, the space is meant to feel like it’s yours.

You’re always welcome to make yourself a cup of tea from the little tea station. I keep it stocked with blends from Davis Bay Tea, or you can pour yourself a glass of water. Around the space, you’ll find colouring books, art supplies, and fidgets for those of us who focus or process better when our hands are busy, or when making eye contact feels like too much.

And then there’s Parker. He’s usually pretty excited to see who’s coming in next, tail wagging and full of love to give. After a few minutes, he settles down and either naps nearby or comes over for a cuddle.

I made the office cozy and comfortable so we can do the work that isn’t always easy, the kind that asks for honesty, courage, and a few deep breaths along the way.
